OneNote is a planner and note taking software. But as a writer, my hands down favorite lately is OneNote 2010. “I’m a software trainer by day so I have several “true loves” in the software realm. I’d never heard of it before and was astonished to read that it had been sitting in my laptop all this time. I do the same thing with files within my computer desktop.A few days ago, one of my favourite writing blogs – Writers In The Storm – put up a post about OneNote. Each piece of information is in its own compartment within a larger compartment. My organization obsession becomes fully fledged when it comes to creating folders within folders. While OneNote is not technically free, Microsoft Office is famously expensive, as a UT student, I receive Office as a free download. The first (and most important) reason I am choosing OneNote over Evernote is the fact that not all features within Evernote are free. After tutorials in both, I have decided to continue on with OneNote for several reasons that I will highlight during this post. Evernote is a different program than OneNote, but as the name suggests, they have similar application. OneNote is an application that I am beginning to use to organize the (slow) progress I am making with my dissertation.
I have wasted countless hours making sure everything was in some kind of order, rather than working as hard as I could be. I I have been limited by folders, printed off schedules, highlighters, and paper vs electronic calendars that just don't seem to sync. A fault I have known about myself since early in my undergrad work. If there was a way to describe me and my work, I would say that I procrastinate by organizing. Until recently, I struggled with the limit my organization habits and skills had. I had no idea what it was or what it did, I had never even opened the application.
Quick Answer: Right in front of my nose.įor years, I have seen OneNote pop up during Microsoft Office downloads, updates, and even an issue at school where my teacher computer's default printer was OneNote.
